Lauren Taylor is a London-based TV reporter currently working as a presenter at Al Jazeera English. Education
In 1992, after gaining her education at Oxford and graduating from City University, London with her Journalism Diploma, Lauren joined Independent Television News, the producers of news for ITV as a graduate trainee. The nineteen-nineties were interesting times and Lauren began her career reporting on major events like the death of Princess Diana, the IRA bombing in Manchester, the London Docklands bomb and ETA violence in Spain.

For nearly four years, between January 2006 and September 2009, Lauren held the position of senior news anchor for Al Jazeera English in Doha. She was one of the principal presenters of the news hour programme since its inception in November 2006. Lauren anchored the news hour that won the award for Best 24 Hour News Programme at the Monte Carlo Television Festival in 2008. During her time in Doha, Lauren did field reporting on terrorism in Yemen, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco. She was also embedded with a US army, unit searching for Improvised explosive devices in Baghdad.
