All about: Disney Channel website

This article is a quick and easy guide to the Disney Channel website, and the programmes it offers for children and adults alike.

The website

To access the Disney Channel UK page, you should visit Disney.co.uk and select the TV tab at the top of the screen. As the Disney Channel page is part of the general Disney website, you can still access other tabs such as Travel, Shop and Movies. The Disney Channel page is black and white-themed, and is full of pictures and images. At the left side of the page is a box entitled "Coming up on Disney Channel". There is then, a list of programmes about to be shown, updated very regularly. Below, if you click "TV Guide", you will be taken to an even more comprehensive page where you can view the entire day's TV schedule on the Disney Channel. "What's New" selects pages of interest (such as competitions) from the Disney Channel and from the rest of the website.

Interactive areas

Disney Favourites and Character World Under these sections of the page, you can select links to the pages for your favourite Disney Channel programmes. For example, under the "Disney Favourites" heading, you can see Hannah Montana's personal page with games, videos, music, photos and much more. Under "Character World", you can scroll the bar along the screen and see even more of your favourite programmes on Disney channels, such as Jonas LA, or the Wizards of Waverley Palace. Clicking again will reveal more activities and pictures. These pages supplement the TV programmes, making them more interactive. Disney Junior The Disney Channel page also has a section for Disney Junior TV. Like the Disney Channel, this page has the option to visit sections on your favourite Junior programmes. The Jungle Junction page is very interactive and child-friendly, containing tabs with activities, colouring pages to print, and videos to watch. Games There are a lots of games to choose from, all based on Disney Channel TV programmes. For example, you can choose games based around Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, or "Wild Island Rampage" based on the Pair of Kings. There is also a general Games section outside of the Disney Channel page, where there is a huge variety of choice, for all ages and tastes. Whilst these games may not necessarily be based on TV programmes, they are all based upon Disney characters.

Review: Tom Waits' Hold On

Review: tom waits' hold on

The tom waits song 'hold on' is taken from the 1999 album 'mule variations'. although nowhere near as experimental or wilfully obtuse as some of his other work, both before and after, the song shows just what a good melody waits is capable of writing. the song actually comes across as optimistic and reasonably sunny, but it also has a darker side.
