Coventry Health Care: The facts
Coventry Health Care and the Coventry NHS Healthcare are often confused with each other. Coventry Health Care is based in the United States and offers health care coverage. Coventry NHS Healthcare, however, is one of the programmes offered by the National Health Services of the UK. This narticle provides you with facts about Coventry Health Care.
What is the NHS Drop-In Centre?
In Coventry, the programme Coventry NHS Healthcare is responsible for establishing the NHS Walk-in Centre, which was developed in response to local patients’ request for better health care options and longer operating hours.
Services
Many people assume that the walk-in centre established by the NHS in Coventry is a replacement for the services offered by local medical practitioners. In reality, however, the centre was simply built to provide additional services in complement to what is already made available by local GPs. The walk-in centre is, in fact, managed by Assura Coventry LLP, which is an organisation made up of nine local GPs themselves and who are dedicated to providing comprehensive community services and more varied health care options to their patients.
Assura Coventry runs the centre with the help of CCHS or the Coventry Community Health Services, which is its subcontract partner.
How can Coventry NHS Healthcare help?
The walk-in centre has services available to both registered and unregistered patients. Services are more varied, however, for registered patients. They can benefit from out of hours care, repeat prescription services and home visits - services that are unavailable to unregistered patients because they are not residents of Coventry.
