How to get accurate Chinese translations

There are many translation services available online, or services that you can send paperwork for translation. However, how many of them are accurate? How many of them can be trusted to translate correctly and not miss to translate words, or change the context of them? This article will look at some of the options.

Overview

There are many web translations on Google. These services are either online translation websites, or they offer a service where you can request translations to be sent to you. Anyone who can Google English to Spanish or Chinese will be given a full range of these services, but may in fact, mistranslate or not advise on context and grammar at all. Therefore, this gives people the wrong information. Of course, the people who offer to translate Korean by email could also mistranslate, but it is more likely that they are experts and can give all of the information, advising on grammar as well. Therefore, you get a full service.

Online

A lot of the foreign translation offered by Google dictionary and other online translation sites are machine translation services. These services are programmed and designed to give simple translation, that are mostly accurate. Nevertheless, like any automated service, there is always room for mistakes. These mistakes will obviously not be picked up by someone who is unfamiliar with the language. Therefore, this can cause problems especially if the translation is likely to be used as part of a design, such as a tattoo, or a piece of artwork.

In person

Some sites offer an email service as well as the machine translation. The benefit of this over the online method is clearly that the translation will be done by a human who is an expert in the language, and can provide some more information, such as grammar and context. They may also provide a bit of history on the phrase and some alternate uses and word play. If you happen to know anyone who speaks the language that you are looking to translate, then you can ask them. Hopefully, they will be able to provide the information that is required. Moreover, if they are there in person, then they can provide advice on how to say the phrases, should that be helpful.
