Company founded Newey & Eyre was founded in 1927 and in over eighty years, it has emerged into the United Kingdom's largest electrical wholesaler. Rexel It is now part of Rexel UK Limited and this company also owns WF Electrical, Senate, Denmans and Parker Merchanting. Headquarters The company has its headquarters in the heart of England in the midlands city of Birmingham which is in the centre of the country. Its managing director is John Hogan. He has another four senior directors working under his leadership and the company employs over 2,000 people. Products Within the industry which is provides electric equipment and electrical fittings, Newey & Eyre supplies wiring, cable, HVAC, cable management, circuit protection, luminaries, sockets, fixings and accessories, hand tools, lamps and lighting, work-wear and safety equipment. Corporate mergers Over its more than 80 years of trading, the company has been acquired by a number of holding companies but despite the changes of ownership, it has remained largely unchanged throughout these corporate mergers. Latest management takeovers In 1993, the Newey & Eyre Group Limited, which was at the time under the control of Invensys PLC, was taken over by the Investment Group Hagemeyer. Rexel then acquired the company in 2008.

The company operates all across the UK and has a national network of over 150 branches. Within those branches, they hold a stock range of over 32,000 different items. They also have access to another 140,000 products that are available from their stock. They can also be purchased by special order.
Own brand
Newey & Eyre has their own brand of products that trade under the name of Newlec. It has a range of more than 3,500 products that carry this label. The network of branches and its stock control is operated through the management of nine Regional Distribution Centres.
Gordon Yardley Building
The building which is used as the company’s base in the West Midlands city of Birmingham is named after its former Managing Director, Gordon Yardley. He died in December 2005 at the age of 74. He was a well-known figure in the electrical wholesale industry across the Midlands of England.
