Enter your login ID

Go to en.over-blog.com portal and log in to your blog administration. In the top right-hand corner of the page, enter your e-mail address and your password.
If you forgot your password or if you get the error message "Your ID and/or password is/are invalid", click "Forgot your password" and enter your e-mail address. An e-mail containing your login details will be directly sent to you.

Access your administration panel for the first time

Whenever you log in to your administration panel, the first page displayed is called "Control panel". There you will find:

and once your blog is started:

• your blog statistics,
• the last comments

Importance of the theme

Before you can get regular readers, most of your visitors will be sent to your blog via search engines. If you want to change these occasional visitors into loyal readers, don’t neglect the choice of your theme. Choose a backgroung which suits your needs. en.over-blog.com has a wide range of themes. Some of them are available in different colours. You can change the visual appearance of your blog at any time in the "Design" section

Preview and select a theme

Click the picture of the theme which suits you the best. A windows opens and offers you several options:

• Preview your blog.
• If the theme suits you, click "Select this theme".
• If you wish to have a look on the other designs, click "Cancel".

Public Profile

Identifies the blog author. It is displayed at the bottom of each article and in every forum.

First name, Last name

If you choose to enter this information, it will be visible by any visitor getting access to your public profile (on Overblog portal and on the Profile module of your blog). This field remains entirely optional in order to protect your anonymity.

Geographical area

This tag list allows users to be displayed in Overblog directory. For instance, a blogger with tags "UK, Liverpool" will appear in the list of bloggers from "UK" and "Liverpool"

Avatar

An avatar is a picture that represents you on Overblog portal, in the chatrooms and on your blog if you choose to add the "Profile" module ( Learn more ) .
Choose an avatar that represents you.
To download your avatar, click on the "browse" button, search for the desired picture on your computer and then double-click. You need to click the "Save" button to download the picture.
There are three file formats supported by our system. These include jpg, png and gif. The size should not exceed 100x100 pixels

Private information is strictly confidential. Overblog will only need it for administrative purposes (upgrading to Premium level or royalty partnership).

You should only fill out the "Paypal e-mail address" field if you have a Paypal account. You will need to open a Paypal account if you choose to subscribe to the royalty partnership since Overblog makes the royalty payments via Paypal.
