The history of Montgomery Blair High School

Montgomery Blair High School was first established in 1925 with just 86 students and 5 faculty staff. As the 1930's hit, Montgomery Blair High School had grown big enough to be split in to a junior and middle school. Following World War two, the Silver Springs area grew, as did the Montgomery Blair High School intake. Today, it houses over 3,000 students, providing them with the same dedication that it started with in 1925. Sylvester Stallone at Montgomery Blair High School Montgomery Blair High School played host to Sylvester Stallone, making him their most (and only) famous pupil.

Montgomery Blair High School is famous for offering five academies that enhance the prospects of the pupils who are lucky enough to study there. There is an entrepreneurship academy designed as a gateway to entrepreneurship university programs, human service professions which lays the groundwork for a multitude of health and social care professions, international studies and law, media literacy and science, technology, engineering and math.

Athletics at Montgomery Blair High School

Montgomery Blair High School offers a wide range of athletic teams and competed against local high schools, often with great success. They were recently placed second in counties for gymnastics (Spring 2011) and were placed 4th in counties for boys tennis (Spring 2011). They also offer baseball, track, softball and many other sports for the pupils and the local residents to enjoy.
