Healthy drinks are those that both keep the body hydrated and add nutrients to the diet. These can be probiotic drinks, or vitamin waters, or those that work for hydration, such as those drinks that contain electrolytes and minerals. This article acts as a guide to buying healthy drinks.

Water drinks

Why do we need water? Water is important for the body because over eighty percent of the body consists of water. Water is used to keep every organ functioning properly. Hot drinks and cold drinks
Hot drinks and cold drinks both rehydrate the body. It is important during hot weather to maintain adequate water intake. Even when you are not thirsty, it is important to drink at least every few hours.
Types of drinks Pure water, or filtered water is best. Water is better than soda or coffee or even fruit juices if you want to stay hydrated. Juices add nutrients to the diet, like vitamin A and vitamin C, but just plain water is best for hydration. There are many other types of drinks that can be made or purchased, such as sparkling mineral waters or a wide variety of fruit and vegetable juices. These are good nutritional choices as well. The sparkling or bubbly waters add trace minerals to the body that are often hard to find in other drinks. Water benefits health in many ways and therefore water nutrition should be considered by everyone, man, woman and child.

Probiotic drinks

Probiotic drinks have become popular lately. These add good bacteria to the body, as do yogurts. Kefir is a type of probiotic drink and there are many others that taste like watery yogurt.
Importance of probiotic drinks
These are very good to help the gut flora to improve. The gut is where much of the digestion takes place and the healthy bacteria are in charge of aiding digestion. Many times, the flora can become imbalanced, with unhealthy bacteria taking over. This is true after taking many drugs, such as antibiotics or just from eating foods that don't encourage healthy bacteria. That is why having probiotic drinks can help. They add beneficial bacteria, such as lactobacillus, to the diet and therefore to the gut. These drinks are usually tasty and even children will like the taste.
