When thinking of KPMG, most people think of accountancy and that's what a huge proportion of their staff do. You can join KPMG from school, or as a graduate or a trained accountancy professional. School-leavers programme This has been newly created to help those who would normally have gone to university to come straight into work at KPMG UK and learn on the job. They offer a six-year training programme, fully-paid, which leads not only to a university degree but also to a professional accountancy qualification. To be accepted onto this programme, you must have A level grades of at least one A and two Bs, and have at least a B in GCSE Maths. Once accepted onto the programme, the position is permanent.
KMPG offers a variety of graduate programmes which all lead to professional qualifications. Places at KPMG fill up fast, so it is best to apply as early as possible. You will need to decide which area to apply for: Audit, Tax and Pensions or Advisory. For each area, you need a minimum of a 2:1 degree in any discipline, plus ABB grades at A level and a grade B or above in GCSE maths.
If you already hold an accounting qualification, you can apply to work directly for KPMG UK or KPMG International in either their finance or audit departments. However, there are other KPMG careers available too. If you are qualified in marketing, purchasing, human resources, finance or IT, you can apply to work for KPMG Central Services. Secretarial and administration Central services also appoint secretarial and support staff. They employ junior secretaries, receptionists, secretaries, partner secretaries and administration managers.
