Prolonged disease or injury, loss of loved ones, genetic hereditary, abnormalities or infection of brain, heavy usage of drugs, and personal or social tragedies are the common causes of depression and mental disorders.

- Persistent sadness, self-hatred, irritation, alcoholism, lacking interest in life. - Insomnia, stress eating, crying spells, concentration problems, leading to depressive disorder. - Extreme fatigue, digestive disorders and chronic pains that don't respond to treatment. - Inability to maintain healthy career, social, personal and family relationships. - Teenage depression is a common aspect during the adult transition period. Signs of depression in teens are irritated, fickle and angry moods, extreme sensitivity, isolation and unexplained body pains. - Suicidal depression is a serious case, where one can commit suicide. - Complications of brain, nerves, and heart (in serious types of depression), seizures and stroke.

Stress and depression are parts of everyone's life in various degrees. One should handle them effectively. The key to handling mental issues and depression management is self-control, discipline and healthy lifestyle. - Maintain an active lifestyle Clear your mind of worries, talk more, express your feelings and share pains. Spend quality time with close friends and loved ones. You need to at least maintain e-mail and phone contacts. Make adventure hobbies, become spiritual and do anything to boost your confidence. - Meditate regularly Practise yoga and meditation. It'll regulate both your mind and body. Once you start working on your fitness, your mind will become healthy. - Take proper treatment In case of complications, better consult a professional psychiatrist who will help with depression. The most important thing to realise is that all feelings are normal and part of the ups and downs of one's life. One should learn to accept, take responsibility, and be happy without worrying.
