The Sun TV Network is based in Chennai, the capital of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, and is the source of the world's most popular Indian language television programming with a viewership of ninety-five million households in four languages in India as well as audiences in the USA, Canada and England. Twenty TV channels - Four languages

The Sun Network was conceived as a Tamil satellite channel, but its growth has enabled it to reach other languages including Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The Sun Network Tamil TV channels are Sun TV, K TV, Sun Music, Sun News, Chutti TV and Adithya TV. The Malayalam channels are Surya TV and Kiran TV. The Telugu language channels are Gemini TV, Gemini Movies, Gemini News, Gemini Music, Gemini Comedy and Kushi TV. The Kannada channels are Udaya TV, Udaya Comedy, Udaya Music, Udaya Movies, Udaya News and Chintu TV.

Tamil TV channels

Sun TV India It is the principal channel of the Sun Network. Sun TV gives its audience a diet of entertainment, game shows and soap operas as well as news programmes. Sun Music It features Tamil music from Kollywood and broadcasts twenty-four hours a day. A great deal of Sun Music content involves viewers to phone a video jockey to request their favourite music. Sun TV News It presents news to twenty-seven countries including Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, Europe, America and Canada. Every year the Sun TV Network produces more than fifty thousand hours of original content. Some of this content is produced specifically for special sections of the audience such as people who live in villages. The remainder of the original content is made up of programming for young people, sports, women's programmes, game shows, serials and movies.
