A history of 'Love Worth Finding' by Adrian Rogers

Love Worth Finding (LWF) is a worldwide Christian ministry that promotes the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. This short article tells the story of LWF from its origins in the work of Dr Adrian Rogers, the late Pastor Emeritus of one of America’s biggest churches.

The vision

About the founder Adrian Rogers was a Southern Baptist Pastor and author who served three terms as president of the 16.4 million member Southern Baptist Convention. Born in Florida in 1931, he was called to become a Christian Minister at the age of 19. Rogers founded Love Worth Finding (LWF) ministry, an internationally syndicated television and radio ministry in 1987 and was its president, CEO, and chairman of the Board of Directors before his death. About Love Worth Finding ministry Love Worth Finding followed on from Adrian Rogers’ role as a Pastor and Bible teacher. The vision of the ministry is to proclaim the good news that Jesus Christ is truly the greatest love worth finding. Love Worth Finding aims to bring people to Christ and to help them to mature in their faith, including those struggling in the areas of marriage, family, debt, addiction and other kinds of oppression. It also involves reaching out to new Christians to equip them with knowledge and encourage their spiritual growth.

The work

Key developments Initially, 17 stations carried Rogers’ one-hour television broadcast, while the 30-minute daily radio show ran on 19 radio channels. LWF is now found on 14,000 cable television and broadcast outlets and around 2000 radio stations in more than 150 countries worldwide. Internet hosts include Lightsource.com and Oneplace.com. LWF also reaches out to a Hispanic audience via its ‘El Amor Que Vale’ broadcast. Thousands of e-mails and letters are received each month from people touched by the ministry’s broadcasts, books, podcasts, prayers, sermon outlines, study guides and Bible reading plans. Passing the baton Adrian Rogers died in 2005 at the age of 74, having devoted half a century to Biblical ministry. In accordance with its founder's wishes, LWF continues to promote the Gospel by using both old and new media channels. His widow, two sons, and a granddaughter have also taken forward The Adrian Rogers Pastor Training Institute.
