A review of Zoombinis: Mountain Rescue (PC)

If you have a child in primary level education or in elementary school, then you may have heard of the PC game called "Zoombinis". It is a game based on mathematics/arithmetic and logic. The game organises education and entertainment into a fun and strategic edutainment experience for your young children. This article will review and rate the sequel to "Zoombinis", entitled "Zoombinis: Mountain Rescue".

The series

Zoombinis is part of a series of European English logic games. The other titles related to it include "Zoombinis: Logical Journey" and "Zoombinis: Island Odyssey". The game is clearly meant for young children and the characters are originally coined as "Zoombinis". They have a mildly similar appearance to The Smurfs. In each game of the series, the child is challenged to complete simple maths problems that allow the Zoombinis to continue on their exciting adventure. Note that each game has varying levels of difficulty. So, there is no need to worry about it being too difficult or easy for your child. It is basically created for children of almost any age.

The game

"Zoombinis: Mountain Rescue" has updated graphics as compared to its predecessors. While it was created in 2001, it still has stand-out graphics as compared to many games of its time. It features many three dimensional levels which are filled with brain teasers as well as logic puzzles. Note that there are many customisable features of the game, such as levels one, two, and three, as well as nine major puzzle levels contained within the game. Rating: Ten over ten Additionally, the game picks up the trail again from the old "Zoombinis" games, with the same storyline and characters. Not only will your child practise and maintain maths skills from prior classes, but he or she will also gradually and easily learn new arithmetic concepts. These two areas of the game will help to ensure that your child succeeds in his or her arithmetic class. While this series and game are somewhat old by now, you can still pick up a copy at Amazon.com. Unfortunately, Zoombinis.com is not in working order at the time of this writing. So, you will need to look elsewhere for a trial. Source: Games.gamepressure.com
