What is Excedrin PM?

In 1969, Excedrin PM became known as the first combined sleeping and headache pill. Still in circulation today, the tablet or capsule pill is an over-the-counter pain reliever. It contains diphenhydramine, a non-addictive component that encourages a restful night's sleep and acetaminphen, a non-aspirin pain reliever. This treats watery eyes, fever or pain, the common cold or flu, runny noses and sneezing. As it is free from aspirin, it will not upset the stomach. Excedrin first became known because of the adverts in which Excedrin cured excruciating and unpleasant headaches. Excedrin Migraine The main ingredients in Excedrin Migraine include aspirin, caffeine and acetaminophen, which is a paracetamol. Acetaminophen is a painkiller. Aspirin reduces inflammation and pain while caffeine boosts the qualities of the two. In addition, it produces headache-fighting components of its own. What is this medicine for? While the package may read Excedrin Migraine, it is not appropriate for any type of migraine. When it was approved in 1998 by the FDA, it stated that "although migraine headaches can include significant symptoms other than pain, this product is indicated only for treating pain associated with migraines." It is possible to have migraines without having a headache. However, with Excedrin Migraine, the medication is specifically targeted to the headache that is connected with the migraine. It is also important to remember that this medication is not just for any headache, but only for those which relate to the migraine.
