The Piedmont, namely the cities of Frederick, Hagerstown, Westminster, Gaithersburg and a part of Baltimore, has a combination of humid subtropical climate and subtropical highland climate, meaning hot and humid summers and cool winters. The capital of the state of Maryland is Annapolis. Yet, the biggest and most known city of the State is Baltimore. Other major cities are Bethesda, Bowie, Chesapeake City and Cumberland.
