Branson is a beautiful, idyllic, appealing city, located in the Ozarks of Southwest Missouri. It is built on a ridge and is surrounded by mountains. Tourism is Branson’s primary growth engine. Branson is full of hotels, motels, and resorts.The Branson Chamber of Commerce helps by imparting leadership skills, to ensure consistent economic development and business climate, which in turn will enhance the quality of life of all the residents and visitors.
Benefits of joining the Branson Chamber of Commerce
-The chamber regularly advertises Branson vacation and tourism facilities on regional and national media channels, and all the members derive the benefits by receiving more customers. -Members get to play goodwill ambassadors to the community. It gives them a chance to broaden their network and develop business contacts. -The Chamber holds regular events, including the Branson Business Expo and Branson Business Connection, which help members to create some more network, and showcase their products and services. -The Chamber publishes a twice-a-month newsletter which is sent out to travel operators, agents and other tourism generators. It contains information about Branson hotels and lodgings, etc. It publishes guides and other periodicals which adequately represent businesses in Branson. -Members can obtain a list of prospective customers, which can be used for direct mail marketing. -The Chamber operates two websites: BransonChamber.com and ExploreBranson.com. Branson Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Academy The Chamber runs a Leadership Academy which requires a 2-year commitment from each applicant. The course includes the history of the area and the community, governmental issues and concerns, community services, activities and arts, marketing and business communication, economic development, and environment. This is followed by a graduation ceremony. In the next year, the class of first year has to develop the curriculum for the next year’s class.
Branson: Current status (July 2011)
Branson is an idyllic place which brims with tourists. It is also a preferred destination for retirees who want to spend the rest of their lives in a sylvan spot. Though its economy is strong, many residents have set up businesses and the competition has gotten intense with Branson motels, Branson resorts, Branson deals .There's just too much of all this going on now. Presently, many new commercial developments are being built to get more tourists in, and to offer them much more . Branson needs leadership and clear vision to reinvent itself. In such a scenario, the Branson Chamber of Commerce assumes a great significance.
