Counting money.co.uk: Review and rate

The website Counting Money UK (Countingmoney.co.uk) is the online presence of a concern named Count On Us that supplies cash-handling machines for coins and banknotes. It says that its equipment is designed to reduce errors and save time and money. Moreover, it offers clients a tailored and personal service. In this article, Count On Us's online content, design and layout is reviewed and each is given a rating out of ten.

Design and layout

The design
Count On Us has an aesthetically pleasing design in which the primary colours are black, white and light blue. It is also subtle, in fact the website avoids any tacky, eye-catching splashes of gaudiness, even the small and discreet adverts seem to fit well into the whole. The company's logo at the top is clear without being overpowering and the design remains uniform throughout the site, regardless of which page is clicked on. The layout
The website is laid out in a very simple manner. The logo at the top is interspersed with a prominent search facility, while a main menu and product menu are displayed on the left. The main information on each page runs down the middle, requiring scrolling in some cases, while other site facilities and adverts are lined up on the right. The layout of the website would probably be more effective, if it did not require scrolling and if more of the empty space around the margins was utilised.

Content

Products
The main purpose of this website is to act as a shop window for its products and it does this well with its images of coin jars and sorters. On the left-hand side of the home page is a 'Products' menu which lists all the options on offer. Clicking on each of these links will take the viewer to a page detailing the products in that range, including the price and essential information such as the types of coins recognised by the machines. Other features
On the main menu, viewers and potential buyers can read more about delivery costs. They can get access to product brochures in the form of PDFs, contact Count On Us with queries and set up their own account page.

Rating

Design and layout
Count On Us makes effective use of subtle colours and professional font with respect to design, but its layout could be improved on by creating less of a scroll to get to the bottom of the page. It scores seven out of ten. Content
The website content contains essential information which is useful, if you are looking for the company's products, but does not offer more than what is required. It scored seven out of ten.
