How to find jobs in the Caribbean
Maybe you love adventure or perhaps you simply want to live somewhere different. No matter the reason, you can find jobs in the Caribbean and enjoy overseas jobs which are fulfilling and exciting. Whether it is through cruise employment or the perfect job at a resort, you will need to know how to find jobs in the Caribbean.
What kind of jobs are ideal for me?
If you were to ask what type of island jobs are available, the sky is the limit. However, you probably want to know what kind of job is right for you and what kind of jobs are available within this category. Typically, you will find that cruise line jobs allow you to not only see the world but also allow you to maintain your residency while still working in other countries in the Caribbean. You may be able to travel to exciting places such as Cayman Islands, work jobs in Bermuda, or visit Jamaica in the Caribbean. There are many cruises jobs available for which you may be qualified for. There are staff jobs such as a recreational director or you may want to work with the wait or kitchen staff. One thing to keep in mind is that you will most likely start at the bottom and have to work your way up to where you want to be. The hours are long and the work is hard, it's not all about fun and games on the ship because you're there to work and not be a passenger. However, it's an experience that many will never get to experience.
How do I apply?
If you are planning on trying to get a cruise line job, then you will want to check out the individual cruise lines and their respective sites. Typically, you will want to apply online because you will rarely have an employment centre near you, unless you are near one of the bigger ports such as in Orlando or Miami. Even then, you will have to do the initial paperwork online. You will also need to know that the cruise ships usually hire people from other countries such as England or South Africa and if you want to work in the Caribbean, then you will probably need to be from somewhere other than the United States .
