How to get a career in money and marketing

Getting a career in money and marketing can be a challenge because there is a lot of competition for good jobs in this field. You need to have the right combination of personality, skills, education and experience in order to get jobs in fields like money loans, credit loans, insurance money or mortgage jobs. To best prepare yourself, start by getting a good education and then get any certification you need. Then, find the best job you can and prove yourself in the industry in order to move up in your field. This article is going to provide you with more information about this.

Education

While not necessarily always required, it is a good idea to get a strong education if you want to get mortgages jobs, jobs trading money, jobs offering loans mortgages or any other job in money and marketing. You should get a bachelor's degree at a minimum and major in a subject like accounting, economics or business in order to show potential employers that you are knowledgeable about money and business concepts. Getting an MBA is going to be even better if you want to move up the career ladder since many banking and business or marketing jobs look for graduates of top MBA schools.

Experience and certification

The next step after you graduate is to find out what certification, if any, is required to get the job you are looking for. If you are going to be an accountant or a stock broker or in some cases a mortgage broker, you may need to pass special tests and get licensed. For instance, stock brokers must pass exams called Series 7 exams in the US. Pass these tests in order to get the certification that employers expect in the field and make sure to note on your resume any credentials and certifications you have. You then need to start getting real world practical experience. Many people start out with an internship or with some type of entry level job and then they begin to work their way up, earning the trust of their employers and clients and learning how the business, marketing and money world works in order to get better and more interesting jobs in the field.
