Determine the pattern
Determine what pattern you want for your counter top, floor or wall. You can choose what layout you want, and can even test-fit a few rows of tiles to make sure that you will like it, and to know what it is going to look like when you are finished. You can use stainless steel metal, or metal floor tiles.
Mix up the adhesive
Mix up the tile adhesive, according to the instructions on the package. When you are finished mixing, the consistency of the tile adhesive should look like peanut butter. Some adhesives are ready to apply when you purchase them, and do not require any mixing from you. Applying the layer Apply a layer of tile adhesive to a small area of the counter top or wall using a trowel. You should work in one small area at a time to prevent the adhesive from drying out. Use the trowel to form rows of ridges, by dragging the notched side of it through the layer of adhesive.
Lay the tile
Press the first stainless steel tile into the adhesive. You can use tile spaces to form spaces between the tiles if you like. If you do not like the look of grout lines, you can set the tiles as closely as possible to each other. Repeat this process, until all of the stainless steel tiles are installed.
Cutting the tiles
Cut the necessary tiles for corners and edges. You can use a circular saw that has a blade used to cut metal. Wear safety gloves, glasses, and wear a dust mask to protect yourself from the sharp metal edges and flying shards. Cut with the finished side of the stainless steel tile facing up, and then use sandpaper to smooth the cut edges. Install the cut stiles in the same way that you installed the whole tiles. Use grout acrylic caulk between the tiles.
