Cleansing teas: Peppermint

Cleansing teas: Peppermint Peppermint tea is a herbal tea that has a wide variety of medicinal properties. One of these is its reported usefulness as a colon cleanse tea. It is very soothing and quite delicious to taste. To make the tea, you may use either dried or fresh leaves, and it is quite simple to do. Making the tea Choose a variety of peppermint leaves. Place them in a tray, and leave them outside in the sun for a bit. Tear the leaves, and leave them in the sun for a further 24 hours. The leaves should be dry and crunchy after this period. Put some water to boil in a kettle or saucepan. Pour one cup of boiling water over two tablespoons of dried peppermint leaves. Cover the mug, and allow the tea to steep for ten minutes. Add five fresh peppermint leaves to the mug, and allow to steep for another ten minutes. Strain the tea in order to remove the leaves, and sweeten with sugar, Splenda or honey.
