For many people, joining the army is not only a career choice, but a way to travel and have a life of adventure. Movies and television shows have romanticised the armed forces and life in the military. When one is preparing to join the army, he must realise that he is preparing himself for a lifestyle which may be very different for what he is accustomed to. Army fitness

Those who are in the army are expected to be in top physical shape. For those who have participated in little exercise before, this may prove to be a challenge. In the weeks and months leading up to an individual joining the army, he should engage in a regimented programme of exercise which will steadily become more challenging. The exercise programme will include cardio, muscle building and core strengthening. Doing this will make the physical aspect of boot camp much more endurable.

Army life

Army base life Army life is often much more like everyday life for civilians. People in the army often live in an army base which has houses, restaurants, schools, clubs, golf and other amenities. Stores and groceries are available as well. Benefits Those who live on the army base are allowed to live there for free rent. If you choose to live off the base, you are given a stipend to help you to defray the costs of renting. Those who serve in the army also have access to veteran hospitals, clinics and services. In addition to this, joining the army can give you access to money which is available only to those who have served in the armed forces and this can defray the costs of higher education.

Army jobs

Working in the army involves more than taking up a gun and going to fight the enemy. The army employs its soldiers to participate in jobs like any other company would have. Army jobs can include professionals such as secretaries and teachers. Doctors, nurses and dentists work for the army, both in the battlefield and on military bases, as do engineers and lawyers. People who are able to speak fluently foreign languages can be used as translators.

Where to find jobs in television

Just because you want to find work in television, doesn't mean that you need to look into acting jobs. There are many opportunities with TV careers, such as directing, producing and even the graphics or sound technicians. The one thing that you will need to consider is what you are good at and where you can show off your talents.
