Jewellery
There are lots of different types of jewellery that you can buy.You only need to pick your preference. Depending on your budget, you might want to buy solid silver jewellery or a gold butterfly pendant. Silver butterfly pendants and necklaces will be less expensive than gold. However, if you prefer gold jewellery, you may want to pay that bit extra. Think about the other jewellery that you have at the moment. If you have a lot of silver jewellery, like earrings and bracelets, then a silver butterfly or dragonfly necklace will be your best option. For a cheaper option again, you can get coated-metal costume jewellery instead.
Butterfly wing pendants
You can buy butterfly pendants with jewels across the wings, or pendants that only have half of the wingspan showing. Some of these come as a two-pack, much like love-heart necklaces which you can separate, and share with a loved one. You may also want to consider buying dragonfly silver necklaces, instead of butterfly ones. Dragonfly pendants are like thinner versions of butterfly pendants, and light on your neck.
Preserving them
To keep your jewellery in tip top condition, you need to treat it and keep it clean. There are a number of ways to do this. If your pendant isn't real metal, it may rust or discolour. To try to prevent this, keep the pendant away from liquids, and place it in a jewellery box when you are not wearing it. It may still discolour. Another idea is coating the non-stainless metal in clear nail varnish. Be careful not to use too much though, as it could spoil the look of the pendant. Stainless metals can be cleaned by buying jewellery cleaner liquid from most jewellers. The same advice applies for all types of pendant. To preserve them, keep them in a jewellery box where they can't be scratched, or exposed to liquids.
Remember
Don't worry if your pendant's chain snaps. You can always replace it with another one. A pendant is easily transferred onto another chain. So, this isn't the end of the world. Neither are a couple of scratches or a small amount of tainting. You won't get the same enjoyment out of your necklace, if you are too scared to wear it. The most important thing is to enjoy your item.
