Miami International Airport parking: How to book it and how much does it cost?

Don't park at Miami International Airport until you know the rates and options available. While the airport parking lots closest to the airport terminal appear to be the most convenient, economy parking lots offer much lower rates and free shuttle service. Parking options and rates at Miami International Airport

Miami International Airport parking provides short-term, long-term and economy options. Miami Airport doesn't accept reservations, but call on (305) 876-7000 #4 for help to select the best lot before you leave for the airport. All prices are as of 01.08.11 and are subject to change without notice. Valet parking Valet airport parking lots simplify finding the best spot. Valet parking starts at $18 for up to three hours or $30 per day. A valet parks your car for you within easy reach of the terminals. When you return, valet service gets your car warmed up and brings it to a location very close to the terminal. Short-term parking Short-term MIA parking is available for $2.50 per half hour. There is a daily maximum of $30. The Dolphin and Flamingo garages offer short-term parking options. Dolphin is closest to the North and Central Terminals and Flamingo is closest to the South Terminal. Long-term parking Long term parking options are also available in the Dolphin and Flamingo garages, but are farther from the terminal entrances. Rates for long-term parking are $4 for one hour, $8 for two hours, $10 for three hours, $12 for four hours and $15 for more than four hours. Economy parking The Economy Park and Ride lot is down the road from the airport at 1350 NW 45th Avenue in Miami, Florida. Rates are $3 for one hour, $6 for two hours or $8 per day. When you park in the Economy Park and Ride lot, shuttle service runs every ten to twenty-five minutes to bring you to and from the terminal. The shuttle service picks up in different areas of the lot and drops you off at the curb on the departures level closest to the terminal where your Miami flight departs.

You buy a small transponder ($25 as 01.08.11) to place on your windshield that triggers the Fast Park computer system to automatically charge the credit or debit card when you exit through the special SunPass lane. You no longer have to wait in lines with the SunPass Plus system.
