Movie review: 'Finding Nemo'

'Finding Nemo' is a computer animation film created by Pixar Animation Studios. It was released in 2003 and is a favourite of children and adults alike. The 'Finding Nemo' movie is the Odyssey of a father-fish named Marlin who is looking for his captive son Nemo. The Marlin-Nemo relationship explores the psyche of overprotective parents. The movie records Marlin’s journey from the Great Barrier Reef to Sydney in search of his son Nemo. The cast of 'Finding Nemo' has Ellen DeGeneres who voices as Dory a Regal Blue Tang fish. Albert Brooks lends his voice to Marlin. All the actors who have dubbed the characters in the movie have become celebrities. Crush turtle was played by Andrew Stanton.

The universal appeal of the movie is attested by its success in countries like Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, the Maghreb countries and Australia. Australia even used the 'Finding Nemo' theme for attracting tourists from America and China. The name Nemo has been taken from the Jules Verne book ’20000 Leagues under the Sea’. Captain Nemo is the name of one of the main characters in the book. 'Finding Nemo' is number ten in the American Film Institute animated films list. The other movies on the list include Cinderella, Snow White, Shrek and Toy Story. The movie has won an Academy Award for 'best animated film'. The super hit was directed by Andrew Stanton. Ellen DeGeneres as Dory with a short-term memory loss, won the hearts of viewers all over the world. She also won a Saturn Award for 'best Supporting Actress' for her voice dubbing. The movie created a sudden demand for clown fish. The extraordinary and brilliant colours of the movie encouraged fans to see the movie several times.
