Sedona Vortex, Arizona: The facts

Visitors from all over the world are flocking to the U.S. town of Sedona, Arizona, to witness the energy centres known as the Sedona Vortex. So, what exactly is the Sedona Vortex, and why all the fuss? The following article looks at the how, where and why of this incredible natural phenomenon.

What is the Sedona Vortex?

Sedona has long been recognised by meta-physicists as an important centre of spiritual power. This is due to the presence of four vortices, collectively known as the Sedona Vortex, in which swirling energy centres are emitted from the earth's centre. Benefits Because the energy emitted by the vortexes is very similar to the energy found inside the human body, they are said to provide an uplifting sense of strength, power and happiness. Nowadays, Sedona is an important new-age centre, as visitors flock to the vortexes in search of healing, spiritual and personal growth.

The vortexes

The area known as the Sedona Vortex contains four vortices, each with its own characteristics: The Airport Vortex Located on Airport Road, this vortex is believed to strengthen the masculine side of people who absorb its power. Meta-physicists believe that all humans possess both a masculine and feminine side. Strengthening the masculine side is said to improve risk taking abilitiy, decisiveness and focus. Cathedral Vortex This energy spiral is located where the beautiful Cathedral Rock meets the neighbouring creek. Cathedral Vortex is said to strengthen the feminine side, thus improving patience, compassion and the ability to not interfere in the rights of others. Boynton Canyon Vortex The high levels of energy at this vortex are indicated by the presence of bizarrely twisted Juniper trees. The energy here is believed to strengthen the balance between masculine and feminine attributes, also known as yin and yang. Bell Rock Vortex This vortex is located at the stunning red rock formation known as Bell Rock. This is said to be the most powerful of the energy centres, with new age practitioners believing it to strengthen all three elements depending on one's need: the masculine, feminine and the balance.
