What promotional items can I buy for my business?

Promotional items can be used for a variety of purposes, and are often the result of advertising campaigns targeted at customers and/or potential business suppliers such as stationers or couriers. However, choosing which promotional items to use and who to distribute them to advertise and gain sales, need to be considered. This article will provide information on the different types of promotional items that are available.

Stationery

Business stationery is the foundation of any business, and many cannot function without it. Pens, pencils, envelopes and notebooks are just a few basic items that all businesses require. The different types of promotional items however, include, but are not limited to: Pens and pencils Business or promotional pens can easily be sent out to customers in the post along with letters or other correspondence, as they are small and light enough to fit inside an envelope. Include a logo and basic business contact details on a pen if you can. Post it notes At some point in your day, you will need to write a quick note, maybe a message to attach to some documents, a quick telephone message for a colleague or a reminder note to stick on your computer. Other businesses will use post it notes for exactly the same thing, but sending out post it blocks with your business details printed on the bottom is constantly advertising your product or service. One business may use a post it on a document that they send to another business, in turn advertising your business, albeit in a subtle way. Printed rulers Printed rulers are also another promotional item as your business details can be clearly printed on, and again, they are easily distributed. Mouse mats and oasters Have your company name, logo and a slogan if you have one printed on larger items such as coasters and mouse mats, and distribute them to a target audience. Notepads and telephone memo pads Desktop calendars are something which are used throughout the year, so your business will be advertised for this time, particularly, if the calendar is available for use in a public place such as a library. Folders and binders Small items are best because they can be sent easily through the post with routine correspondence or newsletters.

Clothing, mugs and accessories

For some companies, clothing and accessories are an effective way of promoting their business and some businesses use them. Promotional items fitting into this category include: - T-shirts printed with logo and name and slogan
- Caps
- Cotton bags
- Corporate mugs and beakers
- Keyrings These can be sent out as corporate gifts or promotional gifts to strategically targeted businesses and individuals.
