Sierra snowboards were one of the leading companies in the snowboard market for beginners. Offering a style based around higher-end boarding companies like Burton, but offering it at a discounted price. The company was based in America, but a few boards made it to UK. This is a guide on where to buy Sierra snowboards.

Sierra and its closure

Sierra used to sell high quality as well as cheap snowboards and cheap snowboard gear. Moreover, they stock their own brand Sierra, on their website, they also sold Burton another leading brand in snow sports.
Unfortunately, in 2010, the company under the trading name Sierra went into liquidation due to losing its right to stock Burton. Many factors come into why Burton stopped suppplying Sierra, but the main reason is that they were not happy with the way in which Sierra were selling their products at cut prices well below the recommended retail price. Although, they did this for over three years, Burton finally, had enough and cut supply to the online store. Shortly, after the closure of Sierra.com, the company was purchased by Trusnow.com. There is a limited amount of Sierra snow products on the site, but once they are sold, then that is it.

Where to find Sierra snowboards

Unless Sirra boards are purchased from Trusnow.com and shipped over, there is nowhere in UK to purchase them brand new. The only way to get hold of one is through second-hand outlets. Online Ebay is a good place to look, but the boards do not come up often. Keep checking on a regular basis or get in touch with a seller who is selling cheap Sierra snowboard pants as they may be able to get hold of stock. Snow board forums are a great place to either seek out or find a Sierra board. If no boards are listed in the classified section, post an ad in the wanted section. This will increase the chance of getting hold of a Sierra board as the boarding community will either know someone with a board or have a better idea of where to look. Usually, on the average car boot sale, there are at least a few snowboards for sale. It is worth a trip just for a day out, but you might also get lucky and be able to pick up a Sierra board.
