Where to find jobs in HR
HR, Human Resources, is the office department in a company that deals with the people who are in the company. People who work in this department may be in charge of hiring and/or firing employees, securing benefits for employees, screening applicants, setting-up interviews and handling the paperwork that is related both to the hiring and firing of employees. In addition to this, they often have an HR degree from a college or university. Those who are interested in working in Human Resources will be better equipped if they know where to look for HR jobs.
Colleges and universities
Those looking for HR jobs should contact local colleges and universities to enquire about possible openings. Colleges and universities have HR departments that deal with faculty, staff and students workers and those who work for these Human Resource offices will deal with a diverse population. HR personnel will have to work with the different laws and regulations that govern the student workers and full-time faculty and staff.
Private companies
Private companies can be an excellent resource for a person who is looking for an HR job. Private companies often give good benefits and can be a smaller more intimate environment to work in. Look for listings of private companies in the city or town, where you want to work in and contact their HR office for information. If there is nothing available, ask for a list of HR resources to help you with your job search.
HR managers
Ask friends and family to connect you with HR managers that they know.
Make connections with these people and build a network. Make sure that these new connections know that you are interested in a career in HR and ask if they would be willing to help you find work in the Human Resources field.
HR recruitment
Consider contacting recruitment agencies and offices, which deal with HR recruitment. Have a resume at hand. Make sure to include any experience and education that you have acquired on that resume as well as a cover letter that explains why you are looking for work in Human Resources. Be prepared for an interview with the HR recruiting office before you get any interviews in places with HR job openings.
