The beginning biography and rise of Brooks and Dunn
Ronnie Dunn, born in Texas, and Leon “Kix” Brooks, born in Louisiana, had different upbringings that brought them together. Little did they know that the musical executive Tim Dubois was also eyeing them. At first, Ronnie Dunn wanted to pursue a country music career with a relative and with the name Dunn and Dunn. However, once Dubois heard the rhythm between Brooks and Dunn, he signed the two on a contract together.

It wasn’t long before “Brooks n Dunn” became a hit with fans. With their 1991 first album, 'Brand New Man', the duo’s popular songs topped the country's charts. Some of these recording singles included “Neon Moon” and “My Next Broken Heart.” The duo’s début record made Brooks and Dunn superstars, impressively selling more than five million copies. Another record in 1994, 'Waitin’ on Sundown', even went double platinum hence, proving that Brooks n Dunn would go down in English history as two renowned country music stars.
