History of Warwick Bolam High School

The school came into existence in 1973 when Warwick Bolam Secondary School merged with Bootle Grammer School. Sites The new Warwick Bolam High School existed on two separate sites, one in Netherton and one in Glover's Lane. This situation remained until 1984 when Warwick Bolam High School merged with The Countess of Derby school. This further merger meant that the school - now named Bootle High School - was spread across three sites, Netherton, Glover's Lane and Brown's Lane. In 1986, the Glover's Lane site was closed, and a community centre was built in its place. Staff After the merger with The Countess of Derby, the headteacher of Warwick Bolam High School, Mr Middleton, became head of the new Bootle High School. In 2009, when the school closed, Philip Fryer was head teacher.
