A guide to cheap holidays to Thailand
Thailand offers tropical beaches, delicious food, exciting cities with lots to see and do, ancient culture, Buddhist temples and monasteries and some of the most welcoming and friendliest people in the world. Thailand holidays can also be very cheap, if you avoid the main tourist seasons and choose destinations that offer the most value for money.

The best times to travel to Thailand
From the tropical islands in the South of Thailand to the Buddhist temples, mountains and forests in the North, and from the endless tourist attractions in Bangkok to historic cities in Ayutthaya and Sukothai, Thailand offers an incredible amount of places to see and things to do. It is also one of the most popular holiday destinations in South-East Asia, and for a good reason: holidays in Thailand are a great value for money. If you are looking for cheap Thailand packages, the best way to save money is to choose the timing of your holiday carefully. The most expensive times to travel to the Thai islands are the times when everyone wants to travel there. The high season in most of Thailand is between November and March and the peak season is around Christmas and New Year. During the weeks leading up to Christmas and the weeks after New Year, prices for flights and accommodation are at their highest. If you can avoid the high season, or if you can travel at the very beginning of the high season in November or towards the end of it in March, you can find much lower prices.
The best places for cheap holidays in Thailand
Even though parts of Thailand are more expensive than similar destinations in other parts of Asia, this beautiful country is still a much cheaper destination than anywhere in Europe or the US, and it also offers luxury for very little money. Despite the political unrest in parts of Thailand, most of the country is a safe destination for family holidays. Many of the cheapest Thailand packages include a week or two in some of the most popular holiday destinations: Phuket and Pattaya. Unfortunately they are not the best parts of Thailand, and there are much more beautiful places to see than the overcrowded holiday resorts. Travelling outside the main tourist areas can be much more affordable than staying on the tourist beaches. All inclusive holidays are not necessarily the best option in this part of the world, and booking your flights independently and finding your own accommodation can be just as cheap or even cheaper. Try the Southern islands of Ko Samui, Ko Pha Ngan and Ko Tao for a less crowded and more relaxing holiday in Thailand.
