A review of Outback restaurant

Outback Steakhouse is an Australian-themed restaurant. Originally, a large franchise in America, Outback has opened up in five different stores around England. The portions are large, and the atmosphere is lovely, but is it worth visiting? This article will be discussing the positive and negative aspects of Outback Steakhouse.

What is Outback Steakhouse?

Outback Steakhouse was originally an American chain, based in Florida, but has now been expanded to over 1,200 locations around the world. Each restaurant is Australian-themed, from the decor to the food and drinks menu itself. There are just three Outback restaurants in the whole of England, and customers can choose to visit, either the Romford, Enfield, or Basildon branch. As the name suggests, Outback specialises in steak, but it also includes chicken, seafood, burgers, and many more. Dietary needs have been taken into consideration, and a separate menu is available for those with any food issues.

Positive points

The menu caters for a number of dietary needs, and included upon it, is Gluten free, lactose-free, vegan, vegetarian options and halal, as well as the usual meat products, which are to be expected in a Steakhouse. This means that a large party of dinners should not have to worry about leaving out those who cannot eat what is on the normal menu. There are so many options to choose from on the menu, and each is completely different from the other. The drinks menu is also very tempting, ranging from Australian beers, such as Fosters, to ciders, soft drinks, whiskeys, smoothies, cocktails and milkshakes. The freshly prepared smoothies are highly recommended. The portions are very large, and significantly filling, meaning that the dinner will definitely be getting their monies worth here. Each dish, including the Outback-exclusive sauces, such as their highly recommended ranch sauce, are prepared and cooked, as soon as, they are ordered, rather than being left on a hot-plate to keep warm all day. Therefore, the dinner can take comfort in knowing that their food is completely fresh. Thankfully, you can taste this in your meal too.

Negative points

Whilst the food may be very fresh, it is however heavily seasoned, cooked in high fats, and laced with a multitude of cheeses, creamy sauces or salt. Whilst the food itself is delicious, please take note that it is very unhealthy, and the calorie content is extremely high. The menu is rather expensive, so although you are definitely getting a generous portion, those strapped for cash may not wish to pay up to around £20 for a main course. Unfortunately, there are only three restaurants to visit in England, so many people may find that Outback Steakhouse is too far away to visit.
