About Damien Rice
Damien Rice was born in Ireland in 1973. He started performing under the stage name Dodima and then, formed a rock group called Juniper. After touring, Rice did not like how the record label controlled them. He quit the band and moved to Italy to do some farming. Upon returning to Ireland, Rice gave his solo demo tape to his cousin who gave it to a record producer. It proved to be a big break for Rice.
The Blowers Daughter
The Blowers Daughter was released by Rice in 2001. It became a huge hit, making the top 40 of songs. He recorded the rest of his album and released that in 2002. That album by Damien Rice was called O. It became number eight in the UK charts and sold 650.000 copies in the US. It also produced more hits like the singles Cannonball and Volcano. Damien Rice also released live albums. In 2006, Damien Rice released 9, also a huge hit with audiences. To follow this release, Damien Rice did much touring.
