Nottingham Castle College is a further education college with 16 campus sites in the British city of Nottingham. It is an associate college of De Montfort, Nottingham Trent, Bedfordshire, Northampton and Derby Universities.

History and location

Vision
Its ambitious vision is: "We aspire to be the region's leading provider of learning and training, recognised by learners and employers for the outstanding quality of our comprehensive and demand driven vocational provision."
Origins of the college Castle College was formed in Nottingham in 2006, when two other further education colleges, Broxtowe College and The People's College, merged, in an effort to provide the people of Nottingham, with more educational opportunities. Location of the place The headquarters of the college is located at The People's Campus, situated at Maid Marian Way in Nottingham city centre.
The campus This campus offers courses in Digital Technologies, Business & Travel, Management & Professional and Health & Medical Sciences. There are ten other sites throughout the city and wider country of Nottinghamshire, with campuses dotted throughout Nottingham city centre, as well as sites at Beeston and Stapleford.
People First Centre One of these campuses is the People First Centre, which is located on Alfreton Road in Nottingham. This centre is designed largely for people, who do not want to study in a large college environment. It offers E2E and E4E courses to those aged 16 to 19.

Learning and lifestyle

Courses available The college looks to make education readily available to all people in the city. College courses include 'A' Levels, as well as BTEC and other vocational options, such as diplomas in subjects such as barbering and electrotechnical technology.
Outreach Castle provides community college courses known as Outreach. These courses offer a range of opportunities to adults over 19 years of age. These allow people to undertake subjects as diverse as foreign languages, and anger management, at conveniently locations in the city. Application process
The first step towards applying to become part of the college community, is to fill in an application form, copies of which can be found online. College course details can also be found on the institution's official website. International students The college has a diverse collection of international students on its rolls, some 300 in number.
English for Speakers of Other Languages
The college's English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses are in high demand.
BEGIN In order to apply to join a class, prospective students must apply to BEGIN (Basic Educational Guidance in Nottinghamshire). This organisation manages the waiting list for those classes, held at Castle College, and indeed all Nottingham colleges’ ESOL courses.
