An American indie rock band, ‘Modest Mouse’ was formed in 1993 in Washington, now based in Oregon. While the band initially began with singer, lyricist, guitarist Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green, and bassist Eric Judy; guitarist Jim Fairchild, percussionist Joe Plummer and instrumentalist Tom Peloso joined them later. Songs and albums

The name ‘Modest Mouse’ has been derived from the story ‘The Mark on the Wall’ by Virginia Woolf. ‘Broke’ was the first song by Modest Mouse in 1996. It was a single release followed by ‘Whenever you breathe out, I breathe In.’ ‘Broke’ also appeared later in ‘Building Nothing Out of Something’ album compilation.
Songs The band also sang the hit numbers Float On and Ocean Breathes Salty at a live performance. A few more hit Modest Mouse songs have been: Modest Mouse Dashboard, Missed the Boat and We’ve Got Everything.
Modest Mouse album
In 1996, Modest Mouse released their first studio album ‘This is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About’ followed by ‘The Lonesome Crowded West’ (1997). The following Modest Mouse albums were - The Moon & Antarctica (2000), Tricks (2001), This Devil’s Workday, Good News for People who Love Bad News (2004) and We Were Dead even before the Ship Sank (2007).

EPs and cassettes

Modest Mouse released the following EPs (unused songs) and compilations: Blue Cadet-3,Do You Connect? (1994), Interstate 8 (1996), The Fruit That Ate Itself (1997), Night on the Sun (1999), Building Nothing Out of Something (2000), Everywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks (2001), Sad Sappy Sucker (2001), Baron von Bullshit Rides Again (2004) and No One's First and You're Next (2009). Cassettes Modest Mouse also released two cassettes: Tube-Fruit, All Smiles and Chocolate (1993) and Uncle Bunny Faces (1993).

Tours

Many of the Modest Mouse tour performances were initially at DIY/Punk venues. They also began their North American tour in 2008. Modest Mouse has been a part of the Unlimited Sunshine Tour, an American traveling music festival. They have also toured for promoting their album ‘We were Dead even before the Ship Sank.’ Modest Mouse's latest tours are going to be held in the various cities of Australia (July) and in Auckland, New Zealand (August).
