The history
Covering the local North Devon area, the North Devon journal has been running from 1824 to the present day. In 1941, it merged with the North Devon Herald, to become the North Devon Journal-Herald. Later on, it reverted back to its original title, which has continued to the present day. It has always been produced in Barnstaple.

The sports section is fairly limited as the area does not really have any professional sports teams so, much focus is on Barnstaple town Fc, Bideford and the Barnstaple Rugby team.
