Differing personalities
The 'WCW Sting' and the 'TNA Sting' are both entirely different characters. Sting broke onto the wrestling scene as a blond, short-haired wrestler who had bright-coloured face-paint to depict his surfer gimmick. From 1996 onwards, Sting's appearance changed to a longer-hair, dark character who wore black and white face-paint and arrived in the ring in a trench coat and carrying a baseball bat.
World Championship Wrestling
Sting built his wrestling career as part of the WCW rostrum from 1987 to 2001. He went from being a rising-star, wrestling for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in the late 1980s, to become involved in bitter rivalries with individual household names and factions during the company's later years. Rivalries Sting's early feuds saw him battle with likes of Ric Flair and Vader in numerous title matches. One match with Vader left Sting with three cracked ribs and a ruptured spleen. Sting went on to play a huge role in WCW's war with the NWO, who were led by Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Hulk Hogan. Sting competed in the last-ever WCW match against Flair after the company was purchased by WWE.
Total Non-stop Action
Sting has had several spells with TNA since he made his début in 2003. His initial spell with the promotion saw him only make four appearances in two years, but he has featured more prominently since 2005. Rivalries His first feud upon regular featuring in TNA was with Jeff Jarrett, that lasted on and off for over 18 months. After defeating Jarrett, Sting feuded with the likes of Abyss, Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe. Sting is currently involved in a program with Flair and Hogan, where a win over Flair would lead to a future match with Hogan.

Sting has won a total of 15 heavyweight titles, most notably with WCW and TNA, where he has been a six-time WCW World Heavyweight champion and a four-time TNA World Heavyweight champion. He has also been World Tag Team champion in both promotions.
Career achievements
Sting was won an array of awards from the Wrestling Press, including numerous 'Match of the Year' and 'Wrestler of the Year' awards. He also had a DVD based on his career released in 2004, called
'Sting: Moment of Truth'.
