Safety procedures
When you have plans to go out with your friends or even to the nearest store to get some groceries, just before you start your engine, make sure that that you buckle your seatbelt as well as the rest of the passengers in the car. This is the most important thing to do as soon as you get into a car; whether you are the driver or not, ensure that you do and that everyone else does the same. There is no exception to this. Don’t drink and drive If you know that you are going to be drinking on a night out, do not drive. No matter how confident you are of your ability to know when enough drinking is enough for you, it is still an irresponsible act for you to go ahead and drive even after a couple of beers. Drink driving is not only dangerous to you but everyone else on the road. The best thing about having tons of friends is that there is always someone who does not drink and can hence be your designated driver.
Do not overtake other vehicles
The last thing you would want to do when you are on the road is to cut in front of the other drivers. Most of the time, you are counting on their reaction time and alertness and if you guessed it wrong, it could lead to a heavy collision. The purpose of driving is to arrive alive at your destination. Allow some time to the other drivers as well as to yourself and ensure that you have some space from your car and the car in front of you. Pay full attention to the road It is important that you give your full attention when you are behind the wheels. Forget about your mobile phone and everything else. If you must take the call or deal with your children in the car, make sure that you pull over and deal with the situation. You should check your speed every now and then make sure you do not go over the speed limit.
