The pros
Gift Baby gift baskets are usually made up of baby toiletries and can include other small bits like bootees, bibs or mittens and perhaps some nappies. They are easy to put together as a gift. You will only need a basket and some cloth to line it. Then, you can add whatever you want into the basket as a gift for baby. You can spend the time browsing baby shops and chemists to find the nicest bits for your gift. You can add in clothes to baby hampers if you think the recipient may like these. Remember sizing and go for something newborn and also something for 3 to 6 months. Babies grow so quickly! The same applies if you are buying nappies. Baby gift baskets can be the right present if you know that the recipient needs these kind of baby supplies. They are great to give at baby showers when mum hasn’t had time to collect all the supplies she needs.
The cons
Time comsuming The problem with gifts and presents is that they can be time consuming if you are making them yourself. There is also the uncertainty of what to put in them if you are making bath gift baskets. If you are not used to babies, looking at the array of toiletries available for them can be mind-blowing! You might need help with what to buy and what your gift recipient is actually going to use. Allergic reactions You also need to be aware that baby skin is very sensitive. Fragranced toiletries may cause allergic reactions, so care needs to be taken when purchasing smellies for the bath, soaps or shampoos. Stick with well known brands that cater for sensitive baby skin. Does your gift recipient really need more toiletries? They might have already stocked up. In that case, a gift voucher for a chemist or baby shop may be more suitable as they can choose exactly what they need for a baby. So much that gets put in a baby basket never gets used. Its really about the preference of your gift receiver.
