Paper ideas
Birthday, thank you and get well cards can all be decorated with train images. You can purchase special cards from art supply shops or buy coloured cards from High Street shops. Select your images and decorate the front of the card to your taste. If you are handy with a computer, you can make up the card on screen, including an image border and then print it off. Clip art of trains are great for the enthusiast. Clip art can also be used to liven up stationery. For adults, you can make up letterheads using train images. Choose the image that you like and add it to the top left of the page, include the letter senders name and address at the top and you will have some great looking letters for the train fan. Children can use them on thank you letters or party invitations. You can also liven up their bedroom by using clip art as a wall border. Jazz up an old border or buy a plain one. Select all the images that you like and make a cool and interesting bedroom border for kids who just love trains.
Books and bookmarks
You can create a child's book using train clip art. Kids will love to help out with this project too. You can make up a tale of a Choo choo train by printing out clip art as the main image on each page of your story and adding in a few lines of text. If you are doing this with a child, get them to make up the story and select the train clip art that they like to add to the page. You can finish the story book off by making a card cover and using clip art to collage the front of the book along with its title. Bookmarks are also great little projects for kids and older ones. You can make bookmarks out of a card that has been decorated with train images. If it is being given as a gift, add the name of the recipient, for instance, Dad's Bookmark. You can cover it with a thin coat of varnish to make it more durable or laminate the bookmark for a lasting gift.
