How to save money on cruises to Mexico

If you are planning on taking a Mexican cruise, you'll probably want to know how to save money. There are many things you should consider when planning Mexico trips and some of them can help you hold on to a little more of your money. This article will help you save money so that you have more left over for other fun and exciting things to do.

Plan in advance

Discounts
One of the things you can do to save money is to plan your Mexican cruise in advance. Most cruise ships offer early saver discounts so you can save quite a bit of money on your cabin and cruise. In fact, most will adjust your bill if the price goes down after you've already scheduled. You can typically put down a deposit on your cruise and then make payments up to about 30 days before the cruise. Street vendor deals
Cruises to Mexico also include tours and shore excursions. While it is safer and more dependable to book your tours and shore excursions through the ship, if you are looking to save money you can wait till you arrive in Mexico and get a much cheaper price from street vendors.
Time management
The only caveat is that you will need to be sure that you can make it back to the ship on time because if it is a shore excursion booked through the ship and it runs late, they'll wait for you. However, if you book it on your own, it's up to you to be back on time or the ship will leave. Always go as early as possible and make sure you allot enough time to get back with plenty to spare.

Other Ways to Save

Group rate
If you plan on going with a few other people you may qualify for a group rate. You can always ask what the minimum people requirements are to get a discounted rate. Eatery
Eat on board to save money. Sure, you may want to try authentic Mexican cuisine and that's okay but if you want to really save money, eat all of your meals on the cruise ship since the price of meals are included within your rate. If you prefer, simply have one meal off of the boat and the rest you can enjoy at no charge while you're on board.
