Considered as a complete and comprehensive system for data analysis, SPSS is being used as a computer program that is able to survey authoring and deployment i.e. IBM SPSS Data Collection. An important feature in SPSS is that it can take any type of file and use the same to provide tabulate reports, charts, plots, and trends, etc.

Using SPSS

Additionally, SPSS can also be used for data mining e.g. IBM SPSS Modeler, text analytic, etc. to do statistical analysis, and collaboration & deployment. The SPSS which has been acquired by IBM now is being sold under IBM Software Group's Business Analytics Portfolio. The program is extremely useful for the students who want to use it for effective and efficient way to analyse data.

How to use SPSS
The SPSS program comes in CD to be installed in Windows OS. Once it is installed users can access it directly for their purpose wherein they put information manually to get results. Various variables displayed alphabetically help users reach to the desired one. For instance, user can open a data file from the menu by choosing File and put the information in it. Once all the information is piled up in the concerned columns, user can run an analysis menu from the menu "Analyze". Analysis has a sub-menu named "Descriptive Statistics" which has another sub-menu "Frequencies". Several icons appear in the "Frequencies" dialog box menu. Any one of them can be clicked to get analysed data and measurement.

Why to buy SPSS A major advantage of using SPSS is that it saves lots of time and provides swift and effective data analysis that can be extremely useful, if provided at the right time. Similarly, it is a user-friendly program that does not require much technical knowledge from users to get operated. Moreover, as it can be installed easily, users do not need to take technical support from anyone. Rather, they can install it on their own.
Why not to buy
Apart from being an expensive one, SPSS is not better than other competing similar programs such as SAS, R, etc. Similarly, the default graphics are poor which are hard to customize.
