What makes the best CD carry case?
CD carry cases are very simple items of equipment and you may have not put much though in to what makes a good one. There are many varieties of CD case available and this article looks at a few things that separate a good CD case from a bad one.
Size
The size of a CD case is very important and depends on how many CDs, or DVDs that you usually carry around. If you only carry a few around with you or, for example, like to store it in your car, then the best CD case for you would be a smaller one. If you carry a large number of CDs or DVDs around, then a bigger CD case would be best for you. For bigger CD cases, however, you want to make sure that the case itself is not too heavy because, with the weight of the CDs or DVDs, the case could be fairly heavy and uncomfortable to take it with you.
CD protection
When carrying around your CDs or DVDs, it is important that they are protected and do not get scratched or even broken. Therefore, the best cases are the ones that have a full covered sleeve for you to place each CD or DVD into for CD storage. Ideally, make sure that they are transparent, so preferably made of plastic, so that you do not have to take each CD out of the sleeve in order to see what it is as this will become inconvenient. Also, make sure that the CD case itself provides adequate protection for your CDs and are made of a solid, but light material. This will mean that your CDs are kept safe and secure, but it will also remain light to carry around.
CD security
The best CD cases will be the ones which come with a device that prevents other people from opening up your case and potentially stealing your property. Devices such as tiny padlocks or even a combination lock are ideal for this and although, you can always buy one yourself, CD cases that come with one will have the lock made to suit the case so that it won't stand out and look out of place.
