She was one of the original co-founders of Kavarna Coffeehouse in Green Bay, WI and help start the Riverwest Coop in Milwaukee, WI. In September 2009 she became a certified tea specialist by the Specialty Tea Institute and plans to continue to become a master tea specialist. Was the secretary and committee member for 7 years of one of the oldest and largest organic community gardens in the USA (Eagle Heights Community Gardens in Madison, WI, resigned January 2011).
