In 1988 Gerhard Benneck started a German recruitment agency. Starting out with purely advertising-based search the company was soon filling positions for various international companies. Industries served included IT, Chemical, Construction, Machine Building and many others. Soon the demand for further recruitment services required an expansion into direct executive search, or “headhunting”. Contacts & Management took up this challenge and excelled in it due to the special recruiting methods it had developed. By the mid 1990s a further field was opened to the agency with Mergers & Acquisitions. A number of German mid-level companies were sold, mainly to international investors (both strategic and financial investors). Today Contacts & Management has its main office in Düsseldorf and works throughout Germany as well as in adjacent countries headhunting and recruiting top candidates in many industries.
