History
The Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) was established in 1966 and in the following year, it held its first classes with 101 students and a faculty of eight instructors. In January of 2005, the college transferred to a 71-acre facility which features nine buildings. The college can accommodate up to 9,000 students.
Admission requirements
A student has to meet at least one of the three general admission requirements of the Bossier Parish Community College before he can be considered by the school. These requirements are:
- Have finished high school in an learning institution which has been duly accredited by an agency recognised by the region
- Have completed a General Education Development diploma
- Or is past the age of compulsory school attendance and has met the pre-determined criteria on the BPCC Ability to Benefit test.
Academic programs
The College offers an array of academic opportunities and boasts of 28 associate degrees, 16 technical/certificates diplomas, and over 30 technical competency and transfer courses. It also offers a number of Interned-based courses and associate degrees.
The school also has a program for adults who are already working but wish to go back to school. Students in BPCC's Working Adults Support Program can choose between fast-track online courses and traditional degree programs. Qualified individuals under the program can also apply for scholarships.

Apart from degree courses, the college also offers continuing education courses, corporate training seminars, and GED preparatory review classes.
