Gateway Community College
Overview Gateway Community College, established in 1968 as a Maricopa Technical College, is Arizona's first technical school. Gateway Community College is also the first college in Arizona to utilise community advisory committees, and the first to provide students with the option of taking courses at off-campus locations. Programs Gateway College offers over 125 associate degrees and certificates, and has available transfer-credit programs to those who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in a four-year-college or university. Gateway College's programs include Business, Environment, Healthcare, Industrial Technology, Liberal Arts and Nursing. Gateway College is also known for its apprenticeships, which prepare students for the workforce by developing their skills in technical professions. These apprenticeships include the mastering of the technical professions of Carpentry, Electrician, Heavy Equipment Operator, Plumbing and Cement Masonry. Accreditation The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools accredits Gateway Community College.

Gateway College considers that it is of utmost importance to maintain a rich and culturally diverse student community. Therefore, it offers its students a variety of academic resources, such as the Learning Center, Service Learning, honours programs, a library and the computer commons.

Gateway College's community gives much importance to the arts and houses several art and cultural events each year.
Services
Gateway College has excellent services accessible to all of its students. The Career and Employment Center helps students and alumni to search for jobs, write a resume, and prepare interviews. Internship programs are also available.
Meanwhile, the Center for Workforce Transition aids alumni of the Baby Boom generation to find jobs in the disciplines of education, social services and health care. Training and volunteer positions are also available for Baby Boomers alumni.
