An introduction to Southern Utah university
Located in Cedar City, Utah between Zion National Park and Cedar Mountains, Southern Utah University (SUU) was founded in 1898 as a teaching college. Today, the school is a private university, which has offered over 7,000 students choices in undergraduate and graduate degrees in nine colleges and schools.

Accreditation
The Southern Utah University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Every year, over 1,700 students graduate from the university
Southern Utah University offers 15 competitive sports for its students. Six teams are teams for women and nine teams are for men.
Purchase of tickets
Those who wish to buy tickets can purchase them on the SUU Sports website. Fans have the choice to buy either season or single tickets for each sport.
Stadiums
The school has two stadiums that it uses for sports events, Centrum Arena and Eccles Coliseum. Alcohol consumption is forbidden in both locations.
On-Campus support
Supportive environment
SUU strives to provide a supportive environment for its students. This has resulted providing places where students can go for support.
The Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Program gives students a place, where they can speak privately about their experience with alcohol and drug abuse.
Support for women and children
SUU has a Centre for Women and Families, which provides support for women and children.
The centre strives to create gender equality and helps women with issues, such as childcare.
In addition to this, support is given to women, who experience sexual assault.
Men Against Domestic Violence is a group, under the umbrella of the Center that works to reduce domestic violence against women.
In addition to this, LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Queer) students can find support and information in this centre.
Clubs and organisations
Joining clubs and organisations With over 100 clubs and student organisations, there is something available for all SUU students. Those interested in knowing more about Native American, Polynesian and African American cultures are invited to join the clubs of these ethnicities. Academic societies and sports club Students can join the fight against discrimination, by joining the Students Against Discrimination club. In addition to these clubs, there is a variety of academic societies and sports clubs that students can join.
Academics
Courses and degrees Nine colleges and schools: Computing, Integrated Engineering & Technology, Education, Humanities & Social Sciences, Performing & Visual Arts, Science, Business, Continuing & Professional Studies, Graduate School, University College, make up the academic structure of SUU. Student can choose between 71 majors, six AAS degrees, two one-year certificates, 58 minors and nine graduate degrees.
