Robin Jones Gunn is an award winning Christian author and has sold over 4 million novels worldwide.

Early Life

First years
Born in Wisconsin, Robin Jones Gunn was raised on a dairy farm until her family moved to Southern California.
Following the move to Orange County, Robin spent her summers at Newport beach with friends from her church youth group.
It was here that the young teens challenged Robin to write stories for them. Up until this point, she hadn’t thought about becoming an author, but she soon discovered a passion for writing, setting her alarm for 3am, three days a week.

First novel

First publication
Following two years of hard work and ten rejections, Robin’s first novel ‘Summer Promise’ was accepted for publication in 1998.
Robin’s love for writing took over and she has been writing novels ever since.

Awards

Awards and nominations
To date, Robin Jones Gunn has written over 70 books (51 of those books are novels), including a number of series aimed at teenage girls, along with Christian fiction for older women and has together sold over 4 million copies worldwide.
Gunn’s best work is widely considered to be her ‘Christy Miller’ series, along with its companion series ‘The Sierra Jensen Series’ and the ‘Katie Weldon’ series.
In 2007, Robin received the Christy Award for her novel ‘Sisterchicks In Gondolas’, as part of her Christian romance series.
To date Robin has relieved three Christy awards for excellence in fiction, a Gold Medallion finalist, Mt. Hermon Pacesetter and the Mt. Hermon Writer of The Year award.

Current Activities

Personal life
Robin Jones is now based in Hawaii where she lives with her husband, Ross, of 34 years.
The couple have three grown children, a son, a daughter and a daughter-in-law, and despite heavy work commitments, the family manage to meet up on the islands at every chance they get.
Robin and Ross also have a golden retriever named Hula.
Robin Jones also spends her time serving on the Board of Directors for Media Associates International, which provides training and encouragement for writers and publishers in difficult places in the world.
